Quantitative methods for group bibliotherapy research: a pilot study
نویسندگان
چکیده
Background: Bibliotherapy is under-theorized and under-tested: its purposes implementations vary widely, the idea that ‘reading good for you’ often more assumed than demonstrated. One obstacle to developing robust empirical theoretical foundations bibliotherapy continued absence of analytical methods capable providing sensitive yet replicable insights into complex textual material. This pilot study offers a proof-of-concept new quantitative including VAD (valence–arousal–dominance) modelling emotional variance doc2vec linguistic similarity. Methods: were used analyse transcripts reading-group discussions plus literary texts being discussed, from two reading groups each meeting weekly six weeks (including 9 participants [5 researchers (3 authors, 2 collaborators), 4 others] in Group 1, 8 [2 6 2). Results: We found text–discussion similarity was inversely correlated with volatility group (arousal: r = -0.25; p ns; dominance: 0.21; valence: -0.28; ns), enjoyment or otherwise discussion less significant other factors shaping perceived significance potential benefits participation. That is, unpleasant disturbing content strongly shaped subsequent these still able sponsor ‘healthy’ this content, as evidenced by combination low arousal high dominance despite valence qualities discussion. Conclusions: Our findings offer field research both possibilities hypotheses test, viable ways testing them. In particular, use natural language processing word norm data valuable complements intuitive human judgement self-report when assessing impact materials.

A comparative study of quantitative mapping methods for bias correction of ERA5 reanalysis precipitation data
This study evaluates the ability of different quantitative mapping (QM) methods as a bias correction technique for ERA5 reanalysis precipitation data. Climate type and geographical location can affect the performance of the bias correction method due to differences in precipitation characteristics. For this purpose, ERA5 reanalysis precipitation data for the years 1989-2019 for 10 selected syno...

15 صفحه اولQuantitative Cross-national Research Methods
Quantitative nation comparisons pose inevitable trade-offs. One is that much of the contextual reality of individual nations is sacrificed for the sake of broader generalization. We fail to capture the uniqueness that defines a nation’s culture, historical heritage, and endemic logic. The interpretation of a variable may, indeed, only be possible when its is studied contextually (Ragin, 1987; a...
متن کاملResearch Methods for Group Recommender System
In this article we argue that the research on group recommender systems must look more carefully at group dynamics in decision making in order to produce technologies that will be truly beneficial for users. Hence, we illustrate a user study method aimed at observing and measuring the evolution of user preferences and actions in a tourism decision making task: finding a destination to visit. We...
